Decahydronaphthalene, also known as: decalin, decalin, bicyclo(4.4.0) decane, is an organic compound, molecular formula C10H18, molecular weight 138.25, colorless liquid, with a slight menthol smell.
Application And Purpose Of Decahydronaphthalene:
1. It can be used as a solvent for paint, used to extract fat and wax, instead of turpentine for the manufacture of shoe polish and floor wax, and can be mixed with benzene and ethanol as a fuel for internal combustion engines.
2. Used as a liquid for the measurement of refractive index, and also as a solvent.
