1-Chlorobutane is a colorless flammable liquid. It is almost insoluble in water and miscible with ethanol and ether. It is mainly used as solvent and butylation reagent in organic synthesis. It is also widely used as raw material in organic synthesis. 1-Chlorobutane is the raw material for the preparation of fungicides myclobutanil and imiprazole in agriculture. In the pharmaceutical industry, it is used as the raw material for the synthesis of animal anthelmintic agent and bentazone. In organic synthesis, it is used as the raw material for the synthesis of dibutyl aluminum laurate, butyl cellulose, etc. In addition, it is also used as catalyst promoter, dewaxing agent and other organic synthesis.
