Sodium bisulfate (chemical formula: NaHSO4), also known as acid sodium sulfate, niter cake. Its anhydrous matter is hygroscopic. Sodium bisulfate decomposes into sodium pyrosulfate before reaching its melting point, so its melting point is difficult to determine. The aqueous solution of sodium bisulfate is acidic, and the pH of 1mol / L solution is about 1.4. In some cases, sodium bisulfate solution can be used instead of 39.0-42.0% sulfuric acid solution. For example, acetic acid can be obtained by distilling the mixed solution of sodium bisulfate and sodium acetate, and the sodium bisulfate solution can also react with most carbonates to produce carbon dioxide. To some extent, sodium bisulfate shows the properties of sulfuric acid and sodium sulfate mixture. This can be reflected when sodium bisulfate is dissolved in ethanol (it will decompose into sulfuric acid soluble in ethanol and sodium sulfate insoluble in ethanol). 2NaHSO4 → Na2SO4 + H2SO4

Sodium fluoride is an important fluoride product, widely used in wood preservatives, wine fungicides, electrolytic aluminum regulator, dental fluoride and other fields. Adding sodium fluoride to toothpaste can prevent caries. Fluoride and enamel can form fluorapatite on enamel surface, improve the hardness and acid resistance of enamel, and reduce plaque formation, reduce the incidence rate of dental caries.

This product can be used as an analytical reagent for infrared detection of IR. It can also be used as an emulsion or developer for cine film and photographic film. It can also be used as a tranquilizer in medical treatment.

Used as photographic fixer, metal cleaning agent, electroplating solution and reducing agent.

It is commonly used in the preparation of chromium containing catalyst, coal dye in printing and dyeing industry, glass and ceramic glaze and corrosion inhibitor.
