Copper oxide is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula Cuo. It is a black oxide of copper, slightly amphoteric and slightly hygroscopic. It is insoluble in water and soluble in acid. It can decompose oxygen under high temperature. Hydrogen or carbon monoxide can be reduced to copper at high temperature. Copper oxide is heated in air and releases oxygen at about 1050 ℃ to reduce to cuprous oxide. Although copper oxide is insoluble in water, it can be dissolved in aqueous alkali metal hydroxide solution. It is used as colorant in glass, enamel and ceramic industry, anti Zou agent in paint and polishing agent for optical glass. It is used in the manufacture of dyes, organic catalyst supports and copper compounds. It is also used in rayon manufacturing industry and as a desulfurizer for grease. It is used as the raw material for manufacturing other copper salts and artificial gemstones.

Ammonium hydroxide can be used in the production of nitric acid and nitrogen fertilizer, as well as the production of dyes, pharmaceuticals, plastics and circulating refrigerants. For example, the gallium arsenide V-groove pattern substrate can be prepared with ammonium hydroxide etching solution. The obtained gallium arsenide V-groove pattern substrate is relatively smooth and flat, and there are few defects caused by corrosion. The ammonium hydroxide etching solution used is anisotropic etching solution with moderate corrosion rate.

It is mainly used for refrigerants and flocculants in rubber industry. It is also used for manufacturing electronic tubes, analyzing reagents and detecting sulfate and oxalate. Prepare basic medium. Lime nitrogen is mainly used in the production of carbendazim, benomyl and intermediate monocyandiamide. When exposed to water, cyanamide is initially formed, which is toxic to plants, but it is quickly transformed into ammonia. This toxic effect makes plant leaves fall off, so it can also be used as herbicide, fungicide, insecticide and cotton defoliant. Calcium cyanamide can also be used as raw materials for the production of plastics and explosives. It can also be used for steel nitriding, gold and silver ore treatment, removal of nitrogen oxide in waste gas, removal of formaldehyde in waste water and corrosion inhibitor of brine.
