Brief Introduction
Sodium boraxite is one of the main boron minerals in Salt Lake Boron Ore. Triclinic crystal system, monoclinic crystal system, intact rare, usually fibrous, needle-like or hair-like, composed of like “cotton balls” like white silky loose clumps. Collective body is fibrous, nodular, lentil-like, earthy and so on. Single crystal colorless, glassy luster; fibrous aggregate is white, silky luster, slightly transparent. Very brittle, hand can be pinched into powder end. Hardness 2.5, density 1.955g/cm3, insoluble in cold water, soluble in hot water, soluble in acid. Burning expansion. Have slippery feeling. Sodium borate for the typical arid areas of inland lake phase chemical deposition products, often with rock salt, gypsum, nitrate, natural alkali, sodium nitrate, borax, water borax, column boron magnesium stone, plate boron calcium stone or reservoir water boron magnesium stone and other symbiotic; can also be a secondary mineral produced in the salt marshes.
