Azelaic acid can be prepared by oxidation, nonaniline can be prepared by ammoniation and hydrogenation, and Nonanol can be prepared by pressure hydrogenation.

Tetramethylpyrazine is a bioactive component extracted from Ligusticum chuanxiong, a widely used traditional Chinese medicine. It can inhibit platelet aggregation, enhance vasodilation, increase cerebral blood flow and has neuroprotective effect. Tetramethylpyrazine injection has been widely used in the treatment of ischemic stroke, coronary heart disease, diabetic nephropathy and osteoarthritis of the knee in China. Tetramethylpyrazine has also been evaluated as a clinical treatment for pressure ulcer, as a salvage agent for patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and as a treatment for bronchial asthma and vertebrobasilar insufficiency. This product is also used as flavoring agent, sweetening enhancer of alcoholic beverages, flavoring agent and supplement of cigarettes.
