Brief Introduction
Benzoic acid appears as a white crystalline solid, slightly soluble in water, mainly used in chemical manufacturing and food preservatives. The main uses are as follows:
①.Benzoic acid has good antifungal effect. It can be used with salicylic acid in the treatment of dermatomycosis and superficial fungal infection such as tinea corporis, tinea manus and tinea pedis in adults.
②.Benzoic acid can be used in the production of dye carrier and plasticizer, and it is often used in the performance improvement of alkyd resin coatings.
③.Benzoic acid is often used as a fixative, for example, as a fragrance protecting agent in fruit juice, as edible flavors in chocolate and fruit preserves.
④.Under acidic condition, benzoic acid has inhibitory effect on mold, yeast and bacteria. Therefore, benzoic acid is an important acid feed preservative and acid food preservative. It can also be used as a preservative for latex and toothpaste.
