Brief Introduction
Hydroxybenzotriazole (HOBt), white crystal, 1n hydroxyl substituted derivative of benzotriazole. It is often used as racemization inhibitor in peptide synthesis. When DCC dehydration condensation is used to prepare peptides in the classical method, the chiral center of the substrate can not be well maintained in the product due to the high activity of DCC. Generally, additives such as hydroxybenzotriazole are added to reduce the activity of activated esters to inhibit racemization. See details See peptide synthesis. Hydroxybenzotriazole is usually sold as monohydrate crystal (~ 11.7% water, weight). Anhydrous hydroxybenzotriazole is explosive and should be paid attention to when used.
