Lactonic Sophorolipid is a glycolipid with antimicrobial properties and can be used as a natural antimicrobial surfactant for oral hygiene. It is also a potential anti-cancer agent. Studies have shown that it induces apoptosis in human HepG2 cells via the caspase-3 pathway, suggesting its potential use in cancer therapy.
