Fluralaner mainly works by interfering with GABA gated chloride channels, which is similar to the target of cyclopentadienes, phenylpyrazole and macrolides. Fluralaner is a broad-spectrum insecticide. It has good insecticidal activity against ticks, fleas, lices, Hemiptera and Diptera, and its virulence is higher than or equivalent to that of common insecticides. Fluralaner not only has no significant cross resistance with existing insecticides, but also has good insecticidal activity against some resistant pests.

Properties

Fluralaner is a systemic insecticide and acaricide that is administered orally. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved it under the trade name Bravecto for flea treatment in dogs in May 2014. The EU approved the drug in February 2014. Australia approved its use for sale as a flea and tick control treatment.
