Product Description: the chemical formula is C7H6Cl2, the molecular weight is 161.02, it is a transparent and colorless liquid at room temperature, the melting point is 2 ℃, the boiling point is 196-203 ℃, and the flash point is 182 ℃.

Product purpose: It is used in the production of 2,6-dichlorobenzaldehyde and 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile, as well as herbicide and dye intermediates.

Preparation method: 2,6-dichlorotoluene is prepared by chlorinating p-methylbenzenesulfonic acid to produce 3,5-dichloro-4-methylbenzenesulfonyl chloride, and then further desulfonate to obtain 2,6-dichlorotoluene.

Typical Properties

1,3-Dichloro-2-methyl-benzene is a useful synthetic intermediate. It can be used to prepare aryloxymethyl-substituted dibenzo[b,f]azocines as potential protein kinase A inhibitors. It can also be used to prepare dimethylglycine sulfonamides as potential bradykinin hB2 receptor antagonists.
