Dichloroisocyanuric acid is a white crystalline solid with chlorine smell. The material itself is nonflammable, but if it is contaminated by combustible materials, it may cause fire. It will accelerate the combustion of combustible materials. Contact with ammonium compounds or hydrated salts can cause very violent chemical reactions. It may react violently with a small amount of water and release chlorine gas.
