Propanal

Description: colorless clear liquid with aromatic smell.

Features: flammable, its vapor and air can form an explosive mixture, which can cause combustion and explosion in case of open fire and high heat. Chemical reaction or combustion caused by contact with oxidant. In the fire scene, the heated container is in danger of explosion. Its vapor is heavier than air and can diffuse to a considerable distance at a lower place. It will catch fire and burn back in case of fire source.

Application: used for making synthetic resin, rubber accelerator and antioxidant.

It is used to make synthetic resins, rubber accelerators and antioxidants. It can also be used as antifreeze, lubricant, dehydrator, etc. It is mainly synthesized by carbonylation of ethylene, oxidation of n-propanol by dichromate or passing n-propanol vapor through copper catalyst at high temperature.
