Uses: as cyclizing agent and acylating agent, analytical reagent and substitute of orthophosphoric acid in organic synthesis.

Physicochemical properties: colorless, transparent and viscous liquid. Easy to deliquescence, non crystalline, soluble in water and hydrolyzed to orthophosphoric acid.

Hazardous characteristics: non combustible. However, contact with H pore forming agent will cause combustion. Not very corrosive. Hydrolyze to orthophosphoric acid in water.

Emergency measures and fire fighting methods:

Put out the fire with water. And keep the containers in the fire site cool with mist water. First aid: prevent phosphoric acid from contacting the skin and splashing into the eyes, so as to avoid serious skin burn and eye corrosion. The patient should be separated from the contaminated area, take off his clothes immediately, wash his skin and eyes with a large amount of water, and then apply magnesium oxide glycerin ointment on his skin.
