Chemical property: yellow-green powder. Soluble in acetic acid. It is yellow when dissolved in caustic soda solution. It is insoluble in water and soda ash solution.

Usage: Tryptophan AS-BS is mainly used as cotton dyeing red primer. It can be used with bright red base R to get rose red, and with bright red base G to get bright pink with blue light. It can also be mixed with tryptophan AS or tryptophan AS-OL for priming, and then combined with bright red base G to obtain a very bright red color. It can also be used to dye vinylon, viscose fiber, silk and to make fast pigment and neutral pigment. It is also used in organic pigments.

NAPHTHOL AS-BS is mainly used as a red primer for cotton dyeing. It can be combined with red base R to get rose red and red base G to get brilliant peach red with blue light. It can also be mixed with chromophenol as or chromophenol as-ol, and then combined with red base G to get a very bright red.
