Properties

FeCl2 · 2H2O ferrous chloride dihydrate is a white monoclinic crystal with light green color, which is slowly oxidized in the air. Therefore, the newly prepared crystal is almost colorless even if it interacts with thiocyanate. It becomes monohydrate above 120 ℃, and to get no hydrate, it must be isolated from air heating.
