Sodium Nitrite
English name: Sodium nitrate
Molecular formula: NaNO2
Molecular weight: 69
CAS Number: 7632-00-0
Physical and chemical properties:
(1) Ordinary sodium nitrite: white fine crystals, or light yellow.
(2) Dry powder sodium nitrite: white crystals, non clumping, in a loose state. Specific gravity 2.168, odorless, slightly salty, easily deliquescent, soluble in water, melting point 271 ℃, decomposition temperature 320 ℃, with oxidizing and reducing properties. Slowly oxidize in air to form sodium nitrate, which easily forms nitrogen compounds with amino groups at low temperatures.
Usage: Mainly used as a raw material for manufacturing nitro compounds, azo dyes, etc., used as a mordant and bleaching agent for fabric dyeing, as well as a metal heat treatment agent, early strength agent for cement, and anti icing agent.
Execution standard: GB/T 2367-2016
