Main applications and functions
Biomedical field: it can be used as adhesive for tablets and particles, cosolvent and stabilizer for injections, flow aid for capsules, dispersant for liquid preparations and colorants, stabilizer for enzymes and thermosensitive drugs, coprecipitation agent for insoluble drugs, detoxifying agent for ophthalmic drugs, lubricant and coating film forming agent, etc. There are hundreds of drugs using PVP as excipient.
