Uses
As an alternative product of highly toxic phosgene and diphospgene in synthesis. triphosgene is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry to prepare chloroformyl compounds, such as the intermediates of dozens of antibiotics such as aloxicillin and mezlocillin.
Triphosgene is used to synthesize chloroformate, isocyanate, polycarbonate and acyl chloride.
