Uses
2-HPMA is used as one of the main cross-linking functional group monomers. HPMA can be copolymerized with other acrylic monomers to prepare acrylic resin containing active hydroxyl groups.
2-HPMA, melamine-formaldehyde resin, diisocyanate and epoxy resin are used to prepare two-component coatings. Hydroxypropyl methacrylate is also the main raw material for acrylic coatings and thermosetting coatings.
2-HPMA is also used as an adhesive for synthetic textiles, the fiber treatment agent for textiles, and an additive for decontamination lubricating oil.
2-HPMA is used as the active diluent and crosslinking agent in the radiation curing system. 2-Hydroxypropyl methacrylate can also be used as a resin crosslinking agent and modifier of the copolymer of plastics, rubber and synthetic resin.
