Uses
Ink: white pigments used in ink manufacturing are mainly titanium dioxide and lithopone. Among them, titanium dioxide not only has good physical and chemical stability, but also has good resistance and low price compared with other ink materials.
Plastics: The application of titanium dioxide in plastic products, in addition to its high hiding power, high achromatic power and pigment performance, can also improve the heat resistance, light resistance and weather resistance of plastic products, protect plastic products from UV light, and improve the mechanical and electrical properties of plastic products.
Papermaking: Paper made with titanium dioxide has good whiteness, high strength, luster, thin and smooth, and does not penetrate during printing. Under the same conditions, its opacity is 10 times higher than that of calcium carbonate and talcum powder, and its weight can also be reduced by 15%~30%. So decorative paper, Bible paper and paper money must use titanium dioxide.
Cosmetics: titanium dioxide is non-toxic, and almost all kinds of perfumes use it to replace lead white and zinc white. Titanium dioxide can reduce greasy and transparent feeling in gouache and cold cream. Titanium dioxide can also be used in other spices, sunscreen, soap, white soap and toothpaste.
Rubber: titanium dioxide is not only used as colorant in the rubber industry, but also has the functions of reinforcement, anti-aging and filling. Mainly used for car tires, rubber shoes, rubber flooring, gloves, sports equipment, etc., usually made of titanium dioxide.
Coatings: Coatings are viscous suspensions composed of substrates, pigments, solvents, and additives. Titanium dioxide is used as a pigment in coatings. Pigments have the ability to cover and decorate, thereby achieving a decorative and aesthetic effect. At the same time, pigments can also enhance the mechanical strength and adhesion of the coating film, which can extend the service life of the coating film.
